Why Sarah Fenwick?

Sarah Fenwick is a Chartered Psychologist and Professional Coach who specialises in developing high performance in teams and individuals,  through leadership training and development interventions including executive coaching, business coaching, career coaching, personal development coaching, life coaching, sport psychology and exercise psychology.  Sarah's goal is the personal development of clients be it at work, in sport or leading a healthy and fulfilling life.

Sarah's goal is to develop the client to the point that Sarah's expertise is no longer required. Sarah aims to achieve this through assisting clients to develop their own self-awareness and personalised toolkit enabling them to take control in the driving seat of their work, life, career, sport, etc.

Sarah doesn't just 'walk the talk', she 'flies the talk' in that she has a long list of achievements, varied life experiences and adventures - see Profile.

Excellence can be attained if ……..
you care more than others think is wise,
risk more than others think is safe,
dream more than others think is practical,
and expect more than others think is possible.

TESTIMONIALS

'I have found working with Sarah to be a real joy.  She operates purely on a peer to peer basis so you never feel you are being talked down to or lectured at.  That said, Sarah picks her moments to challenge you.  In my case, she judged those times to perfection, resulting in me either being truly able to confront my own reality or being able to hold myself to account for my commitments.'  CEO, Financial Services

'Working with Sarah has helped me focus my efforts and energies, and assisted me in mapping a route through new and complex territory. With her help I have been able develop strategies to deal with a range of professional and business issues which might otherwise have felt overwhelming.'
V Cox, Scottish Executive

'I had the rare privilege of observing Sarah coaching a CEO when she came to us for an advanced coaching refresher. It was fascinating to watch: she seamlessly wove together all three of her "lives" as a strategic coach, trained sports psychologist and high-performance sportswoman herself, drawing on all of them to help and challenge and egg on her client to higher achievement.

This obviously makes her perfectly suited to coaching high achievers, especially those who are proud of having a coach who has herself (literally!) flown higher and further than anyone else. But having known Sarah now for almost a year, I think it would be a mistake to pigeonhole her as just a coach for "alpha males"; her sensitivity and kindness give her coaching much greater range.'  Anne Scoular, MD, Meyler Campbell

''The facilitator [Sarah] was very constructive during the sessions and challenged the group, making our understanding and thought processes work throughout the day. Very enjoyable event.'  Delegate, Coaching for Performance Workshop

'Sarah's ability to steer my own visions from obscurity into daylight and bolster my self confidence has proved of massive value to both me and my business. She retains a unique ability to see-the-wood despite there being trees everywhere - she is the best sounding-board I have ever met.' SM - Director

'Sarah's expertise and style in executive management coaching really helped me to focus on various goals and objectives for the business and also on a personal level. Sessions with Sarah were also helpful in terms of actually planning the 'journey' for achievement of priorities within the strategy I had set. Coaching was particularly useful for me in a business that has developed from 3 to 45 staff in 3 years, with the related learning curves and challenges along the way! I would certainly recommend Sarah, whether you are already a top CEO or just starting out on your business adventure!'
Sally Lynskey - MD, GRP Laminates
Wessex Business Woman of the Year 2002

'Sarah has been a very perceptive and challenging coach. Her skills at guiding me through the process were excellent and she held me on track when I tried to side step issues! I have already recommended members of my management team to go through this programme.' IS, Lawyer.

TESTIMONIALS

'Sarah’s coaching, in two easy-going sessions, showed me a few simple yet very effective methods to significantly improve my team effectiveness, something 10 years of corporate courses and ‘on-the-job-learning’ never achieved.

FANTASTIC !!'  Professional Yacht Skipper

'……so thank you for helping us to achieve this [own business and chosen lifestyle], as we really are enjoying a very happy time along this path.' EP

'The coaching has made a hugely significant impact on me and my perception about what I could do etc.  I really appreciate the support and challenge I've had from you Sarah, it has been literally life-changing.' S Simpson

'Sarah is very perceptive and although she pushed me hard, she was really in tune with my levels of motivation and energy, without a doubt it is Sarah's support that has enabled me to find a personal exercise routine that not only works for me but one that I actually look forward to and am determined to stick to.' C Munson

'I highly recommend Sarah's professional as well as personal skills. Her strength, determination, honesty and accessibility were both a great support to me then and remain an inspiration and help for the future' C Sturmer.

'I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the coaching. I had hoped to see you once more before I left but time was too short. I wanted to say how much I valued our talks and how much it has taught me about myself. You truly gave me ´a hand´ in challenging old ideas and beliefs and changing them to new and more constructive ones, something I am very grateful for.'  R Klein-Woolthuis

TESTIMONIALS

Thanks for everything, the sessions have been really useful and my performance has improved dramatically!’
Emily Harris, Equestrian

'The biggest impact the sport psychology has given me is the confidence in my abilities and teaching me how to plan for the future and execute that plan. It also gave me a mental boost in the hard times and a helping hand through dark days. Sarah became not only a mentor to me but a friend and confidante which I could trust like no other in the business.'  SL, Sailing

'We have learnt a lot about ourselves, especially to feel confident in our abilities……… and our results are reflecting this.' Rugby Team

'The experience for me working with Sarah was particularly successful and I put it down to the fact that she guided my journey through the problems, but at the end of the day I sorted the answers out for myself.' FK

'Thanks for your input. It is really helpful to bounce ideas of someone impartial and to have alternative ways of looking at something. I am finding it very positive. You have been really helpful, in some really unexpected ways....would you please, please input again, to the next level?' FD

A few of the ways in which Sarah helps clients

  1. I help clients through clarifying their goals and the processes for achieving them, through looking at where they want to go, but more importantly HOW they are going to get there.
  2. I work with clients who want to work more effectively under pressure by challenging them to deal with the causes rather than react to the symptoms.
  3. I facilitate clients developing self-awareness of their behaviours and how they impact on and are interpreted by others. I do this through working with them to develop empathy and understanding of individual experiences and perspectives.
  4. I work with executives to develop leadership and high performance behaviours that are fundamental to today’s increasingly complex and dynamic working environment.
  5. I work with athletes to help them to improve their performance under pressure.

‘Growth is understanding what we have not yet been able to conceive, feeling what we have never felt, doing what we have never done before. It is daring what we have never dared. It may not, therefore, necessarily be pleasurable. It obliges us to leave our comfort zone, to progress into the unknown, to face the tremendous impact of self.’
Piero Ferrucci.

Sarah's clients all share the common theme of wanting to explore and fulfil their potential and Sarah gets huge personal satisfaction from helping them excel in their chosen field(s).
